How information is handled when you visit this website, contact us or apply for a role.
Last updated .
This notice covers proteusbio.ai, its contact and application forms, and the private Proteus workspace at admin.proteusbio.ai. It does not describe the separate Proteus-SD service or information handled in research collaborations.
Contact messages
When you contact Proteus through this website, you provide your name, email address and message. These details let us read and respond to your enquiry about research, partnerships or investment.
Please include only information relevant to your enquiry. These forms are not intended for patient records, medical information or other sensitive personal information.
Job applications
An application includes your name, email address, LinkedIn or personal-site link, resume link, written answer and the role you apply for. Your phone number and where you are based are optional. We receive these details so we can consider your application and contact you about it.
The form accepts a link to your resume, rather than a file upload. The profile and resume links you provide may also contain personal information. Check what you are sharing and who can open those links.
How forms are delivered
The form identifies its delivery service before you submit. When it says “Delivered through Web3Forms”, your message or application is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to Web3Forms for delivery to Proteus. Web3Forms processes the fields you submit and technical information associated with the request, such as an IP address, timestamp and referring page.
When the form says it is stored in the private Proteus workspace, your submission passes through a private Cloudflare Worker and is stored in Proteus’s private Cloudflare D1 workspace for review by approved Proteus staff. Cloudflare also provides the form’s Turnstile verification and abuse controls. The public website receives only a reference after storage is confirmed; contact and application details are never returned as public website content.
Proteus schedules contact messages and applications for deletion 180 days after receipt. Related inbox and candidate review data is deleted with the submission. Cloudflare backups may retain historical data for the provider’s Time Travel recovery window, and recovery procedures reapply completed deletions before access is reopened.
Web3Forms states that it uses infrastructure and spam-prevention providers to process submissions. Its published policy says that submission data may be retained for up to three years, subject to earlier deletion or a shorter period. This is the provider’s limit, not a statement of how long Proteus keeps messages or applications.
Web3Forms operates from India and uses infrastructure in multiple regions. Its published data processing agreement describes its providers and international transfer provisions.
Visiting the website
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website. It processes connection and request information, including IP addresses and information about traffic, to deliver and protect the site.
The website’s fonts, images and videos are served with the site. Following a link to another website takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.
Private Proteus workspace
Approved staff sign in through Cloudflare Access using their work email and a one-time code. Cloudflare processes that identity to control access. The workspace stores job postings, contact messages, applications and their review history in private Cloudflare D1 databases. Access to contact and application information is limited to approved Proteus staff.
Cloudflare Access uses authentication cookies to maintain the signed-in session and protect the workspace. The access session lasts up to eight hours. These cookies are used for access control, not advertising.
Website performance
The live website loads Cloudflare’s performance measurement service. It sends page-load and browser performance information to Cloudflare, including the page being viewed, a page-load identifier, timing and memory measurements. This provides information about the website’s performance and usage.
Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or browser storage. Its documentation describes the measurements and how they are processed.
Your information
You can contact us about personal information you have submitted, including to request access, a correction or deletion. Identify the enquiry or application so we can locate it; please do not send identity documents through the form.
Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to restrict processing, receive a portable copy of information or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may have a right to object to the use of your information, including where it is processed on the basis of legitimate interests.
You may raise a concern with the data protection authority where you live. In the UK, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
